I didn't realise your remote desktop issues were quite so problematic. Does it refuse to run unsigned stuff, or something?

Seriously, I don't know why you'd bother with Vista it if that were the case, that's insanity.

You win some, you lose some - it really does say something about the shittyness of the hardware in your particular laptop when the Windows drivers didn't work either...

I have owned a desktop with Asus motherboard and it seemed pretty good except that the Ethernet port stopped working after a year or so. But for some reason I recommended it to all my friends.

I then bought an Asus laptop. The built in video card driver doesn't work in Vista (which came with the laptop) or Windows 7 RC1. But it works fine in Ubuntu. The ATI video card has been a major PITA in Ubuntu until the 9.8 release of FGLRX, however I still had to patch Xorg for it to work properly.

And now I am trying to make Ubuntu recognise the built in Tv Tuner card in my Asus laptop. So there, I am no longer planning on buying Asus or ATI. Unless Karmic Koala rocks my world
